Accessibility
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. One instructional rule shapes every accommodation: support may never reveal the spelling before the student submits it.

These are your own settings. They apply to you on this device right away, follow your account if you sign in, and are never set or removed by your district.
Reading & Display
Your own settings. They apply right away on this device, follow your account when you sign in, and your district cannot change or remove them. They are display choices only — nothing about your spelling, answers, scores or class codes changes.
Switches readable text to Atkinson Hyperlegible with clearer letterforms. Many readers find it easier, some prefer the standard font, so the choice is yours. Spelling tiles and icons stay as they are.
Adds measured line, paragraph and word spacing, and a little more room between labels and their controls. Spelling entry keeps its normal letter spacing so words stay easy to read.
Returns standard font, standard text size and standard spacing. Your sign-in, district, classes, practice history and branding are untouched.
- Keyboard first
- Every control — pronouncer requests, letter entry, submit, next word — is reachable and operable by keyboard with a visible focus ring.
- Screen readers
- Pronouncer information is available as text on request, announced through live regions. The target spelling is never placed in the page before submission, for any user.
- Text accommodation mode
- Teachers can enable on-screen definitions, sentences and origin text so a student who cannot rely on audio gets the same information a pronouncer would give aloud.
- Audio you control
- The word can be repeated as often as needed, at bee pace, and recordings can be replaced with human voice recordings district-wide.
- Reading & Display Preferences
- Any person can choose a Dyslexia-Friendly Font, a larger Text Size (Standard, Large or Extra Large) and Enhanced Spacing, from the Aa Reading options button or this page. Each works independently, alongside dark mode, district branding and browser zoom, and one button resets all three. Any person can switch readable text to Atkinson Hyperlegible with roomier line, letter and word spacing. It is a personal preference — not a medical claim — and it works with dark mode and district branding. Spelling tiles, icons and symbols are left unchanged so practice behaves identically.
- Reduced motion
- Celebration animation is visual only, never audio, and is suppressed when the device requests reduced motion.
- Contrast and touch targets
- District brand colors are checked for contrast and adjusted when needed, and interactive targets meet minimum size on phones and tablets.
